IOPO Education Programs
IOPO is pleased to offer a number of educational programs tailored to specific audiences in support of organ, tissue, and eye donation. The goal of every program is to educate people in order to prepare them to make an informed decision to donate by registering at the BMV or online at donatelifeindiana.org.
Our programs include:
- The Life is Cool Program - Elementary Schools
- A program designed to educate elementary school children about organ donation.
- Chalk One Up for Life - High School
- A more advanced program designed to educate high school students in their Health classes.
- Show Us Your Heart - Driver's Education
- A program that includes an 18 minute professionally developed video designed to inform driver's education students about Organ and Tissue Donation near the time they will register for their drivers license.
- Circle of Faith - Faith Groups
- A program that supports church leaders in presenting the case for organ donation to their congregation and providing the congregation the opportunity to save lives by becoming organ donors.
- Circle of Life - Businesses/Organizations
- A program designed to promote organ donation awareness and fundraising in the workplace.
- Minority Education - for Minorities
- Increasing awareness of the need for Organ & Tissue Donation among minority populations.
- BMV Buddy - Bureau of Motor Vehicles
- A program designed to increase understanding of Organ, Eye & Tissue Donation at the BMV to help people answer the question, "Would you like to be an Organ Donor?"
- Students for Organ and Tissue Donation
- A program designed to help College students with an interest in organ and tissue donation to build awareness and gain donation registration on their college campus.
- Donor Sabbath
- An annual interfaith observance to increase awareness for organ and tissue donation.
- Transplant Games
- An annual international event that honors the memory of organ donors by inviting donor families and organ transplant recipients to participate in Olympics style competitions while celebrating life.
